In 2010/2011 I wrote a first draft for a short film tentatively titled 'Gray Morning'. I started writing a little of the music concurrently. Shortly after I finished the draft, my hard drive crashed and I let that be the end of it! It was something I wanted to try out so I let it rest.

I was trying to learn German at the same time, hence the titles and lyrics. So I'm sure they make little sense. The story was overly morose, and strained; about 2 romantic partners who are both experiencing odd medical issues and neither person informs the other. They visit separate doctors for testing, are both diagnosed with the same mysterious illness on the same day by their respective doctors, and both are given several weeks to live; it tediously goes on from there. I wanted to film it in Freiburg or Bonn as those places seemed to have a charming dreariness. After later visiting those cities, I learned that they kind of do!

I bought a new hard drive and a few months later some of the tunes were still knocking around my head, so I continued the soundtrack. Here is the music for a film that never even got past a first draft!
